Central Otago Gold Mine Briefing Session with Business South

Mike Collins, CEO of Business South, is hosting a lunchtime meeting for Winegrowers and other exporters to provide their feedback and concerns about the prospect of a modern open cast and heavy industrial gold mine obtaining consent to operate in Central Otago.

The focus will be on hearing what you see as the effects this change in land use may have on our industry long term. Mike has agreed to relay the feedback directly to the Prime Minister and other relevant Ministers of the Crown.

The discussion is not limited to the proposed open cast gold mine at Bendigo since other mining projects are being considered throughout the region that would collectively mark a significant shift in the nature of the economy and natural environment we operate within.
